Hi! I’m Missy, and I’m the Honeybee Mama. My name is Greek for honeybee and I’ve always been a busy one. An optimist and a dreamer, I am determined to squeeze every last drip drop out of life. Life is hard, and never slows down, but it’s our perspectives that make our lives worth living or worth giving up on. I say life is what you make of it, so make honey!
First and foremost, I’m a wife and a mommy. I’m married to the man of my dreams, and together we have four children, ages seven to thirteen. My own journey into motherhood inspired my love for serving women as a doula and childbirth educator.
As a Certified Birth Doula, I want to show mothers they don’t have to be afraid of childbirth by combating myths with facts, using simple, effective training techniques. I talk about empowering mothers every chance I get because I love it! With a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, I am a teacher at heart, and have developed my own childbirth training curriculum, which I use to equip my own clients as well as fellow doulas and childbirth educators.
I have been featured on FOX 23′s Tulsa Live, NPR, published in TulsaKids Magazine’s Baby Guide, and am an award winning blogger. I’m also an active member of DONA International, DONEOK, BirthNetwork National, a Chapter Co-leader of Tulsa CountyBirth Network, and co-founder of The Doula Collective of Tulsa.
